Bridge End Montrose like to keep up with all of the latest news relating to the world of used cars, and some of the most recent news also happens to be the most pleasing!

According to data from The National Association of Automobile Manufacturers of SA (Naamsa), used car sales rose by 20.3% year on year in April – an outstanding increase, we’re sure you’ll agree.  It was also found that as sales of used cars increased, the sale of new cars decreased, by 10.3% at that.

So- just what is it that’s driving people to consider purchasing a used car instead of a brand new one?

Used carsThere are several factors that come into play. Firstly, a slow overall economic growth has affected the vehicle industry just as much as it has in all other industries. This, combined with steep price increases for new cars – and the potential for interest rates to further increase – makes it clear as to why used cars are becoming a preferable choice for many.

We’d like to think that the aforementioned is reason enough for you to want to purchase a used car as opposed to a new one, but we can assure you that there are plenty more benefits to be found.

There’s the variety available to you (if there’s an old model you’ve had your eye on for ages, you may never know when you’ll come across it!), there’s the avoidance of new car fees (often hidden), and the ability to be able to round up tons more information regarding the car of your choice, the dealership, people’s experiences with that car/dealership, etc.
